Requirements!!
You will need proper safety equipment to participate in lab activities. Part of your daily grade in the shop is wearing the correct safety clothing, or Personal Protective Equipment.
The student is required to provide the following (please have these by September):
- Face-mask (for every day)
- Work boots/shoes, preferably steel-toed. Tennis shoes are not acceptable.
- A flame-resistant work shirt.
- Work pants or jeans with NO HOLES or FRAYS.
The school will provide, but students are welcome to purchase their own if they so choose:
- Safety glasses (the school will provide one pair, then after that they will be $2.00).
- Welding gloves
- Ear plugs
- Welding helmet (auto-darkening or single shade is acceptable).
If you choose to purchase your own supplies, there are affordable options at places such as Atwoods, Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, Ace Hardware, etc.
